Do any of your OCs have pets, or would want to have pets?
Yes! Plenty of my OCs have pets! Here in no particular order they are.
First, my OCs that don't have pets in the present time that I write most of their fics in, but want them:
- Ridley! This boy wants a dog so bad. He and Remy will probably end up adopting a dog.
- Juliette! She wants a cat and will end up married to someone who has a cat. She will most likely end up adopting another one with her husband.
The OCs that do have pets!
- Dove! She has a golden retriever named Brutus. He is the biggest himbo in dog form you'll ever meet. He would roll over and show his belly to an intruder.
- Elsie! She has an orange kitty called Clover who is a very sweet girl. Clover follows Elsie around her apartment.
- Clayton! A newer OC of mine Clayton has two pittbull mixes. Cash and Boone. Cash is a rescued fighting dog so he has some scars and a notch in one of his ears. Boone is the more cuddly, friendly of the pair. They are both fiercly loyal to Clayton.
I feel like I'm missing something but those are the ones I can think of now.
When did Juliette pick up art as a hobby?
Oh, this girl has been drawing for as long as she's been able to hold writing utensils! She got in trouble a lot as kiddo for drawing on her school work. She started taking art classes as soon as she could. She didn't get into digital art until she was seventeen when Grayson purchased her her first iPad.
Does Grayson have the harem size he does on purpose? Would he acquire more, given the chance? Or is he just like "no, this is the correct amount of animals in the zoo."
No, this size is not on purpose. At its largest, The Menagerie has five women in it! They all adopt an animal identity for their kink/play persona. In chronological order they are; Alice Bolton - Kitten, Mia Russel - Puppy, Elsie Thompson - Piglet, Dove Fowler - Bird, Juliette Hammond - Bear Cub.
Grayson has been polyamorous the entire time he's had romantic and sexual relationships, but when he and Alice began their committed relationship he didn't have any plans to have a harem. When he met Mia he was intrigued by the way she spoke about her play persona and why she enjoyed puppy play as much as she did. Mia is the reason he started the play personas, she asked him to brand her, she's why he even considered trying to pursue other longterm serious relationships.
Every other addition to The Mengarie has been merely through happenstance. He didn't seek the other girls out with the intention of adding them to The Menagerie, it just sort of happened.
When did Juliette's suicidal ideation start? Was she that depressed before her trauma?
Yes, Juliette was depressed before her trauma (meaning the incident where her ex-boyfriend made her a victim of revenge porn at age 15 that resulted in her suicide attempt). Juliette had incredibly neglectful parents so never had anyone looking out for her mental health, or her anything really. The lack of care from her parents and the unstable, toxic environment they were raising her in led to her being depressed at a very young age.
Her suicidal ideation started in middle school as more passive suicidal thoughts. Things like, βI just want to sleep forever,β or βitβd be easier if I werenβt here.β As middle school progressed passive turned to active and at the end of eight grade Juliette was struggling with regular thoughts of, βI want to be dead.β
The summer before she started freshman year she was fifteen and she met the guy who would become her boyfriend, Mason who was nineteen at the time. This was a reprieve from her depression and suicidal thoughts. For the first time Juliette felt like she had something to live for, at least until they broke up. The break up hit her very hard and then when Mason posted sexually explicit photos and videos of her Juliette began experiencing bullying to a severe degree. This lead to constant, loud thoughts of, βI want to kill myself.β So, on her sixteenth birthday she walked to a bridge to attempt.
If one of Grayson's subs died, who would he be the most heartbroken about losing? Bonus points if we hear how said sub died!
From most to least heartbreaking for Grayson is: Alice, Juliette, Elsie, Dove, (Mia). The two most likely candidates for dying of unnatural causes are Alice or Juliette.
If Alice died of unnatural causes the most likely thing would be Grayson murdering her. If he did it's likely he'd either beat her to death, strangle her, or break her neck. It would fuck him up severely. He finds Alice's regulation of his behavior annoying but he is unaware how grounded she keeps him. Without her, he would become more violent & unstable.
If Juliette died it would be by suicide and it would destroy Grayson. He would feel as though he failed again. Juliette soothes two of his past aches (his dead fiancΓ©e, Simone, and a patient of his who died from suicide named Darcy) and he subconsciously feels as though taking care of her and providing for her amends those mistakes.
Who are some of your absolute favorite characters that you like writing for?
Ridley, Dove, and Juliette.
Ridley might be the character I draw the most inspiration from personally. Heβs, as I often say, my favorite punching bag. He deals with a lot of psychosis and is often stupidly high. I really enjoy writing the way he interact with the world as it is often not very literally. When reading Ridley ficβs (which are coming!) be on the lookout for instances of him being an unreliable narrator and things that may not be real.
Dove is so, so fun to write. She is loud and bright and intense. Sheβs like a firework to me, or a firecracker. Something very bright and sparkly and big. She's also just so dramatic, I love me a dramatic bitch. When reading a fic from Doveβs POV always be on the lookout for big, dramatic sweeping statements that may not be strictly accurate.
Juliette is my sweet, sweet depressed baby girl. She carries so, so much sadness and itβs often super cathartic to write sadness expressed so openly.
