I just got YET ANOTHER COMPUTER. Came with Win11, downgraded to 7, dualbooted Debian, tried accessing my phone's system folder through it. Epic fail, had to install ADB and in the end there was nothing interesting inside /system!

Oh, and the (inaccessible) shell in Android turned out to be even more anemic than Busybox and even Toybox.

rainbow loom fishtail bracelet tutorial because I've been making them non-stop get a bunch of rubber bands something with two sticks, could be the rainbow loom, two pencils tied together between an eraser, or just use your two fingers!

  1. get the first rubber hand and put it on the first rod. then, pull on it, and twist it around. put the other end on the other rod. it should be an infinity shape, like an "8"
  2. push the rubber band from the top downwards and place another rubber band on the rods, but don't cross it! It should be uncrossed and looking like a "0"
  3. repeat step 2
  4. pick up the rubber band at the very bottom on either side, the crossed one. Bring it all the way upwards, do the same for the other side.
  5. push the bands down, repeat step 2
  6. pick up the rubber band at the very bottom again, bring it back up
  7. keep repeating 5-6 until your bracelet fits around your wrist
  8. when at the very end and you have 2 bands left, bring up the last bands to have only one band left on the rods.
  9. loop the clip (s or c slip) inside of one of the bands, do the same for the other side.
  10. pull it off the rods and go to the other end of the bracelet. get the last two bands, and loop them on the clip as well. you're done! hooray!! i've made exactly 37 rubber band bracelets this week.. I may or may not be going insane

I just got a GBA cartridge dumper and flasher, and one of the first games I tried to flash to a cartridge was a fan-made Tetris clone called Apotris, which has ended up being the most fun I've ever had playing Tetris.

The official GBA version of Tetris is Tetris Worlds, and it kinda sucks. It was the first Tetris game to follow "The Tetris Guideline", which means it has gameplay additions like T-spins and holds, but the control feels subtly stiff. Visually, all of the budget went into extremely dated prerendered 3D backgrounds. Plus for some reason my cartridge won't save my settings. The one silver lining is all of the alternate modes exclusive to Worlds, but many of those are also ill-conceived and clunky.

As usual, the fans outdid the company. Apotris has a beautiful, incredibly flashy and stylish look, with lots of screen flashing, shaking, and neon colors. It also implements the Tetris Guideline, but with controls that feel way more fluid and naturalistic. And there are tons of theming options and gameplay tweaks to obsess over. The alternate game modes aren't as quirky as Worlds's, but represent the most popular and well-refined game modes in Tetris, all implemented competently.

So yeah. Best version of Tetris I've played, and it runs on my favorite game console of all time too!
