I am a Thai fan of Kyungsoo. I am so glad that the organizer hired Kyungsoo to perform on Christmas Day at Paragon Mall. I didn’t know how popular Kyungsoo in my country because He didn't come for 6 years, but the fact that the fancon tickets were sold out so quickly on the first day that they had to add another show surprised me and happy so much. LOL

For K-pop artists who are popular in Thailand, they are mostly Thais in various K-pop groups, such as BAMBAM GOT7, Lisa Blackpink. These two are well-known to the public. As for Ten, I think he has a strong fan base, but in terms of the public, he is still not as good as the two above.

For Kyungsoo, I think this is a good start, which should be because his fancon was successful and had more Thais attended than foreigners. Also, the staff at the concert were always smiling throughout his performance. It might just be my guess (but it’s not just me, my friends too, LOL). I think the reason why organizers in Thailand started inviting Kyungsoo to perform is because GMM Show, who organized the fancon for Kyungsoo, is a major concert organizer in Thailand. In the past, they only organized concerts and music events for Thai artists. They just recently tried the K-pop market, and Kyungsoo is the third person in their company, and their work came out very well, which is probably why other organizers see Kyungsoo's value more. (I have a story about Kyungsoo's concert ticket pressing. Kyungsoo's concert ticket can be pressed at a convenience store, and Kyungsoo's fan asked the staff to press the ticket for him, but the staff acted relaxed because they thought it was easy to press. But when the time came, the staff was shocked because the tickets sold out very quickly. They couldn't press it in time. Who is this person? Why do people want to go see him so much? 555)

had no idea about the organizer!! that's so cool 😭
thank you so much for sharing your experience anon I definitely hope you get to see kyungsoo again soon 🩷🩷🩷 maybe he'll even attend the aaa
might I ask, since some of us are a bit confused ⚰️ are you familiar with the siam paragon event? do you know exactly what it is?

Can they make him an original Thai Christmas song? Is it too late? As few good singers as the Thai bl market has, they've been producing a lot of songs that are well received in SEA. And if he isn't releasing a kdrama OST soon, can I have a Thai OST instead? I'm the definition of taking a mile when given an inch lol

/+r/81ade6a484

have there ever been crossing ways between the k and the thai industry? like have k idols ever released singles in Thai the way they do in Japanese?

I don't know how I lost the Oreo connection. Lol. I was just laughing about the chaos and the idea of 100 and SM having to negotiate ip fees again since Taeyeon is one of their non-songwriting artists. Funnier still, would be if she goes there and also says "I always wanted to write my own songs" like bbh is doing now.

LSM leaving is just like the family head died for SM. Fans of SM favs insist. Their idols are thriving despite SM and yet you've never seen SM pets leave or complain as much as they are doing after his departure.

/+r/53ced05c8e

"you've never seen SM pets leave or complain as much as they are doing after his departure" bingo! and it's funny because in many ways you can see who was liked and favoured by lsm vs who's got new management's favours
either way it's a fickle thing to rely on, especially when the favourites see their band mates mistreated right before their eyes and then only start crying once the winds turns onto them 🤷‍♀️

Lee Seunggi's reputation was really tainted by his association with his wife's criminal family, he went to them because he needed a shelter quick. He's a bit stupid too for being scammed by his previous company for so long, so he's a perfect mark for the likes of MC Mong.

We'll have to see in 5 years how many of their big names stay. It is hard to breakthrough and actually be one of the biggest agencies like HYBE did. Money is important, but luck's also essential. CJes came in guns blazing taking JYJ and, although they still have big name actors, they've settled into a midtier existence after all the initial hype.

/+r/90f76508a7

their business model is both their strength and their weakness when you think about it isn't it profiting off already existing brands allows for a guaranteed source of revenue, but the mere fact that they can profit from said brands is due to them dwindling... you rarely see groups reach their peak at the time they're due for a contract renewal

gfriend was way past their peak when they unfairly got disbanded, lee seunggi was in hot waters as you were mentioning, the exo brand they managed to taint themselves (100 and the members themselves) in the process LOL
some of the soloists (baekhyun, taemin, lee mujin?) can offer them stability re:sales which is good for them as a company fund wise (tho they don't seem to need those) but again i dont see them growing significantly - and apart from singular hits (viviz maniac, lee mujin also had traffic light and I know his cb did quite well on melon this year as well) the only constants they're known for are their horrid communication and shady methods. and thing about the big 3/4 is they're not only big groups machineswho got lucky at some point, there's also a matter of image and reputation so that doesn't rly give them a good start.

/+r/cb4e4a77a3

I don't think it's been confirmed, has it? lotte also has heaven:to the land of happiness lined up among others, so secret would depend on the release of that one (and vice versa) in this case

i just replied to this but also forgot to add, in terms of venues i believe he's doing the same as ksoo (outside of korea) ig ? but not to the same scale, like ksoo selling out 2 days of a venue and yeolmaes having to beg ppl to sell out one... etc

/+r/160d840882

oohh okay thanks for the info anon!

mia 1733663107841
anon 1733533627248

let's be really honest rn... yeolmaes have still not got over the fact that chanyeol lost so much of his popularity and they still treat him as if it's 2018. cause before his "scandal" i'd agree he was probably the most or 2nd most popular and "stable" (ig), but nowadays he just doesn't compare to kyungsoo, kai or baekhyun tbh. but he's still popular and still a fandom favorite, so he's way above other exo members in terms of popularity and stability.

/+r/160d840882

he was already losing popularity before his scandal , he peaked between 2014 (where he was extra extra pushed by sm and see folks this is why you dont rely on that company cause once they decide theyre done with you... 😵‍💫) and, 2017-ish?
i agree that he definitely still has his niches and countries where he's particularly liked, like more popular members do

They always use the fact that prior to SuperM, he was mostly just Kai of Exo without solo gigs as if Kyungsoo didn't also used to be the main vocalist/backup voice of Exo. Times change and only Dandans seem to notice that SM dropped the ball on Kyungsoo's career as soon as he got famous on his solo projects. They think Kyungsoo should've kissed up to the company like their fav.

/+r/2b72ac70f4

(Seems like you quoted the wrong ask here anon but I see which one this was in answer to!)

i'll do you a better one: kyungsoo was not the first exo member to act. he was not even the first exo member to get a leading role in a drama: kai did that before him. he was also pushed onto taemin's album as early as 2014, and got consistent modelling gigs very early on.

again, there's this misconception that's actually very telling among exol and other member stans lol that activity = success. thus they've kind of erased the fact that ALL exo members got to branch out after 2016 with ZERO exception.... except kyungsoo who is the only member who saw a reduction of his field of activities after that point. literally the only ppl we could count on to see him was his movies' distributors 😟 and that's when his OWN roles were parasited by sm and exo members.
as for the other exo members they all acted minus chen, got musicals, subunits, modelling gigs, variety guestings and/or permanent positions, collabs, osts.

tbh I don’t really know what the event is either. I kinda assumed it'd be a festival because a solo christmas concert in thailand seemed a bit random? But I guess it is a solo event since there's no announcement about any other artist yet

/+r/61e329cdd6

heavy on shin hakyun!!! to ME he's kyungsoo's most underrated acting partner among dandans the way they both played off each other in room 7, especially knowing some it was completely improvised, was insane 😭

mia 1733658899832
anon 1733612104839

oh bunnyzens are a whole other level of delusional, I've seen them sincerely argue that all of kyungsoo's recent acting projects have failed and that suho is the more in demand actor between them, but suddenly if you ask why, if that is the case, suho has no critical recognition from the industry in the form of awards from any of the established bodies, it's radio silence, like if he's so good where is this acclaim you speak of? Fuck winning, he's not even got noms

the funniest thing here is I haven't seen any dandan arguing with them for the last weeks so this is completely unprovoked, exactly what I was saying a few asks down about them sizing kyungsoo up for suho because just like their fave, they know very well ksoo represents everything he should have achieved ⚰️

even if he gets noms of whatever kind should we throw a party because after more than 10 years, sm setting him up for the actor of the group role (i know both him and sm were fuming when ksoo got iotl and cart through auditions 🤷‍♀️) for a decade, a formal training for acting he's finally stopped absolutely ruining projects by showing up in them? should we invite Bella Hadid

mia 1733658828031
anon 1733417970304

Bunnyzens are really out there inventing scenarios just to justify Suho's choice of staying in SM lol. If he really loves the group and is as good as a leader as they claim him to be, then he should've done things the Shinhwa Eric way:

refused SM's renewal offers because the contracts were different for every member left SM with the entire group studied the law in preparation for an inevitable legal battle against SM for Shinhwa's name (and won!!!) encouraged the members to focus on solo activities while he shopped around for a new agency for the whole group negotiated for the group's full creative control in the new company which resulted to the group winning their first daesang after leaving SM, etc.

(He did a lot more for the group like using his own money for post-SM expenses or calling out journalists who included criticisms of the members' personal lives in album reviews, but I'm too lazy to enumerate them now.)

But then again, Eric was Shinhwa's most popular member and received a lot of lovecalls from different agencies and many brands (most of which, he accepted on the condition that the members join him in the project); Suho, on the other hand... well, you know already lol. He reminds everyone that he's the leader every chance he gets, but he has never really done anything to protect the group and the members. He's pretty good at whining and throwing shade tho.

while there's hypocrisy in the fact that always throwing around the leader position and he benefits from it (well now he mostly uses it to pathetically whine and cry about how unfair it is to him everything that happens), I reiterate my opinion which is that it's on the whole group.
idk if ppl realise just how absurd it is the way they proceeded? I'm going off sm's biased words here but this was never refuted by either cbx or any of the other members: they entered the discussions as a team of 7, with a team of lawyers. 18 months of discussion, where they pressed for their renewal conditions as 7, thus using their conditions as a group as an advantage. in the end did the group get any better conditions? let's not talk about the delayed winter/christmas album - cream soda was a lackluster, half assed album where the only promo (I don't count music shows) was killing voice... that begs an interesting question: what did they use their pressure as a group on sm for? knowing they reached an agreement satisfying enough that they signed as early as December 2022? (which still baffles me btw... I get they're not media savvy but couldn't their lawyers tell them about the March 2023 general meeting and how it might have ousted lee sooman? ⚰️)

idk... I'd say it's becoming increasingly clear to me that the only thing they cared about was getting good deals for themselves as individuals 🤷‍♀️ which there's nothing wrong with, dgmw! but they would have done it while pressing on sm as a group. and then 3 of them had no qualms about playing around with the group's brand and activities again for their own. interesting, isn't it?

so It seems like ADOR just sued NJs but their lawsuit is quite different than what I expected. Usually the lawsuit will be something like breach of exclusive contract but ador is suing to prove that nj has no reason to break their contract, right? does it usually work like this ?

I think the thing aabout mhj putting a clause in their contract that they can terminate it at any given moment might be true but then what if ador proves that they did positively respond to their demands.... I have to say this has to be the most confusing lawsuit

/+r/7817b50c4b

that's indeed not how it usually goes and you're right, they're suing to prove the grounds for termination were null, in which case nj stays and they get compensation.

sorry if this sounds stupid but what does this mean " his actual title track (the one bbh's title track sounds like ⚰️ ) s"

omg yes. v's singing technique is a... choice. the songs aren't bad (a bit redundant) but the way he sings is something and he's been doing it since the beginning it's like he's using his tongue too much. i don't how to describe it lol.

/+r/1e1dd24551

i mean that baekhyun's pineapple slice has the exact same (outdated) vibe as jungkook's standing next to you. which is funny actually lol
to me v sounds like he constantly has something hot in his mouth and he has to keep his lips from touching and exhale consistently so he doesn't burn himself 😬what's interesting is that while jimin and him were always frankly bad, they weren't that straight up horrible a few years ago

I wish Lee Jongsuk would get Kyungsoo for an OST on one of his projects. That man knows how to choose his scripts and I want a hit OST for Kyungsoo too.

as in they're good or they pull numbers? knowing that in the latter case, hit drama =/= hit ost.

half ot but now that i think about it i don't think i've ever seen him in anything, does anyone maybe have recs?

mia 1733533913951
anon 1733371473654

do you think ksoo should sign exclusive contract with acting company or not? I still doubt css cant pull good scripts, casting left and right, CFs.. We only have 1 drama and 1 cf now. It seems enough for other artists but I want much more for ksoo. I like bh ent. Their actors and actresses are so jobful

  1. nks was the one pulling ksoo's scripts from the start so i don't see why you'd think there'd be a major difference between sm and css on that point. especially in a context where the scripts have been going to kyungsoo on their own little feet for years now. - unless you don't think ksoo has ever had a good script but that'd beg another question regarding you being a fan ig you can guess which one lol.
  2. you might want to read this and eventually tell me what you think?
  3. have you considered stanning a full time actor? i mean that in the most genuine way possible. or a singer-actor that doesn't dedicate as much time to their singing career as kyungsoo does cause you might have noticed when he's not acting he's not... exactly jobless. thus i don't get your point about "jobful"ness... at all🥴
  4. as for cfs i'm gonna put my little exol cosplay on for a sec just to say that it's likely.... kyungsoo's choice 🤓 i think a little glasses endorsement would be good and a payback for what he took from us (glasses!soo 😑) but it'd definitely not that serious and you placing this on the same pedestal as acting is... a choice
