I think another reason why Esupuri bothers me personally so much is that the unit theming is literally just Knights 2 so far. I get that knights is popular but HE has clearly shown that they can get some really interesting and creative themes for units (Ghetto Skeptical and Evil Num+ come to mind) so why do we need ANOTHER fanservice unit with a theme of knights holding up a chivalrous one-sided duty? I want to say this is a bait and switch until they add Ibuki into the group since I feel like we're missing a lot of vital Ibuki lore (not only was it brought up that "someone else" was supposed to be the leader but some parts of the Special for Princess choreography imply there was supposed to be a 5th person). Also does not help that they're also NewDi which literally already has Knights in it??? (Also I just think the original Knights concept is boring imo so having it again for my new little pookies is heartbreaking </3. But I can understand why its popular among the masses) Idk. I just hope my little munchkins get treated better. I think Ibuki would be a cool solo idol but I think his home is Espuri. End of tweet

I actually think esupuri has a different inherent theme than knights, almost like an inversion of Knights' chivalry. Knights pledges their devotion to you, while Esupuri demands YOUR love. Knights gives, Esupuri takes. Their songs are also different genres. I think the decision to have unicorn themeing was intentional. Unicorns aren't real creatures, while Horses are certainly more real and reliable. Esu was also a former member of knights' failed branch so there's that. I do also think ibuki returning to esupuri and switching the concept/unit dynamic is in the cards tbh. Something about their current dynamic/theme seems Unreal. They're missing a centerpiece. Funnily enough, I don't think I would consider it if yume were the leader. But Esu so far hasn't exactly wanted this role (going so far as to try and give it to kanna)
