Media: I like when the theme is very obvious, but explored well within the text. A lot of the fiction I like is basically just writers doing thinly disguised armchair philosophy.

Characters: I like robots, I like nerds, I like tricksters, I like Science Badasses (i.e. people who routinely save the day using science), and I like villains who are pure evil, but have a compelling story as to how they became pure evil.
