allow me to go on a tangent: I can say for a fact that a good majority of us writers enjoy writing fluffy/angst fics with plot. and at least for me, since I can really only speak for myself, it takes much longer to write and complete said fics and push it out to an audience that might not be as accepting as we hope. because truth be told, pwp fics get a lot more love and attention (I mean, look at the top otp true fics under the tag, it’ll speak for itself). even though we write for ourselves, it’s difficult not to feel swayed by lower kudos, comments or hits than we would’ve liked, which in turn could eventually drive us to say “fuck it, i’ll just churn out a quick porn fic. takes less effort and more people like it” not to say porn fics are low effort at all, but you understand the comparison I hope.
