Gonna post this here bc im bored. My life improved by leaps and bounds when I stopped engaging in nonsense and started using social media less and less. I'm a very social person so while it does make me very sorrowful that my online circle is much smaller than it used to be I've become so much happier bc it means I don't have to enterain weird behavior from people anymore. I'm sure many parents have told y'all your "bad" behavior/depression is bc you're always on your phone and now that I'm older I realize. Man. It really was that damn phone lmao.

My mother may have said it to me to be dismissive of my mental illness but I do now acknowledge I could have turned out a little better if I wasn't glued to technology growing up. This isn't to say that social media is bad bc ofc its not and I've had a myriad of pleasant experiences but I've also had a number of negative ones. It's a matter of how you use it. If you know how to use it in a healthy way then you're set but unfortunately a lot of people don't. Being less chronically online didn't fix my issues but sometimes you just need to disengage and find a little joy in things outside of your online life :}.
