i accidentally turned this into an undirected rant so beware... // okay this will be a nerdy rant because i am into quite specific niches, but. i LOVE contemporary poets & art. in all of the forums I've been to, people are so into classics. AND I AM INTO CLASSICS TOO, but goddamn... Can't one appreciate a little abstraction in their lives? a little nonsense in their verses? a little surrealism? please? Also the people that don't like contemporary poetry specifically piss me off. They say "oh, i don't like Lorca's newer stuff" HE LITERALLY RELEASED HIS "NEW" STUFF IN 1930. you would PERISH if you saw Fran Fernández Álvarez's work. NOBODY CARES that you read straight Góngora or Quevedo. NOBODY CARES that you know olden Spanish. I DO TOO. OKAY. WE ALL KNOW. WE'RE ALL NERDS. you aren't a better nerd because you're stuck in the 1900s. OKAY. /nay
