hie mutual. i see you like jazz music. do you like esperanza spalding she is my favourite artist of ALL TIME i listen to her albums religiously

HEY BLUE!! My favorite sans kinnie(???). Iā€™m sorry for the delayed reply I had a hair appointment to take care of. I have heard of Esperanza Spalding! THANK YOU FOR ASKING ME SOMETHING JAZZ RELATED one day we will sit down and have an in depth and insightful discussion about jazz trust and believe. I heard about her from her cover of ā€œIf I was your girlfriendā€. Absolutely astounding she has so much skill I hope she continues to bless the world with her craft šŸ”„. I especially like her live performance of Overjoyed. Whatā€™s one of your favorite songs from her?

I found it interesting that her instrument of choice is a double bass. I feel like double bass players are a dime a dozen. Listen to me, Blue. Bro. People who play the double bass are fucking scary that instrument is so large and unwieldy and I canā€™t imagine it being easy to transport. Whenever I meet someone whoā€™s proficient in it I have to commend them!!

Too long, didnā€™t read; I love Ms. Spalding!! Thank you of reminding me of her artistry :3c. I went on a bit of a tangent, sorry.

HAHA no im very happy to read something spalding related again she is my favourite artist of all time so it was VERY nice to see someone online that also has heard of her music -- 12 little spells is one of if not my favourite album of all time. emily d+evolution is a very close second and also my mums fav

i think her earlier stuff is more what people would consider "classical jazz" but i think all of her music fits under the "jazz/funk" category. though in her new album with milton i think she's gone a bit back to her roots!

i think if i had to choose a few favourite songs.... id start with noble nobles which is one of my favourite songs point blank, the lyrics are so poetic and beautiful. she got to you is another hugely honorable mention seeing as i got to perform this a few months ago! dancing the animal was the very first spalding song i heard of, it was what got my mum hooked and put me on. i remember i heard this all the way back when it came out, like around early-mid 2019?

double bass is absolutely amazing and i totally agree with you on that sentiment, bass players in general are my love as a drummer. rhythm section unite!! but double bass specifically is so so special, you have to really love music and that specific instrument to play it. dbl bass players do NOT fuck around. i love them for it.

okay yeah thats my share of essie spalding stuff but. dont worry about the rants. i am totally open to hearing this. thank you for reading my (probably longer) rant HA
