for my workplace, we have a specific design for our uniforms, so the maid outfits belong to the café and we just make use of them. so like they stay in the café and are used by the maids working that day. usually, our boss chooses the colors for each one of us, but we can put whatever accessories we like as long as we don't change the design or damage the outfit (we usually put badges or small pins in it, we can also hang things from our aprons, like i have a pink pompom i put in mine to squeeze when i need to fidget with something). the only things we're required to provide are shoes, socks and the cat ears/tails (that way we can choose whatever style it's most comfortable for us). for the butlers it's basically the same thing, the vest and pants are given by the café, but they need to provide the shirt, shoes and cat stuff, and can also accessorize it however they like. we only have to pay if we damage something.
