that fic isn’t a priority to me, it’s just something i started writing when i was bored so i’m focusing on other fics atm

i don’t consider having a twitter account i use 5 minutes a day a hobby. i consider things like birdwatching, jogging, baking, and gaming to be hobbies. i do those things a lot more than i post on twitter. if you think criticizing ship discourse is an attack against all women in fandom, you need to seriously reevaluate what being in a fandom actually is. that is not a necessary part of it. most women are normal, actually

i just don’t care about those things at all. it’s not that i prefer rare dynamics, or that i like controversial things. that’s not what makes it difficult. the problem is i’m writing for a community that cares deeply about these things when i don’t have any personal investment in it.

if i had to think about it and give an answer, i’d say the part of writing i enjoy is exploring complicated relationships. that means writing problematic characters and writing uncomfortable or taboo sex. dynamics are an afterthought to that. it’s a bit crazy that i can write a fic like prey and have hundreds of hours of work and character development reduced to “jungkook bottomed”. jungkook bottoming is the least interesting thing about that fic. don’t give it too much thought. nothing about it is arousing to write and i’m not sitting behind the scenes getting freaky with a glass of wine over my own writing. if i wanted porn i’d pull up videos of lesbians scissoring. if people wanted they could ctrl+f the fic and swap their names to make taehyung bottom first. it doesn’t matter to me. i’ve had kookv readers confess to me that they like my fics like it’s something shameful. it’s not. you’re allowed to like things. you’re never tied to one community and you don’t owe any dynamic your loyalty. it’s just two guys going at it

its just the same stuff you see in the taekook community. bottom namjoon is apparently pretty controversial among namkookers. i unknowingly became part of that when i wrote bottom namjoon. i pretty much just flipped a coin when i picked the dynamics for that fic so i don’t think it’s fair i got any credit for writing something “rare”. i would have just as easily made him top, it didn’t matter. for vmin i cant think of anything specific but they didn’t seem too happy when i saw their side of twitter

it’s just one person that’s become weirdly obsessed with me, i doubt i have multiple people upset over my tweets. the fanfic side of the fandom has always been shitty, but now that bts has enlisted it’s made people edgier and quicker to anger because there are less distractions to keep them busy. you’re very sweet and i wish all my readers were like you

comparing jin having fun online to fandom-rotted women seriously engaging in discourse over ships is an interesting cope. they are not the same. and adding “if i live that old” to the end of your idiotic comparison just further showcases how completely immature the people who engage in this stuff are. you can delude yourself into thinking it’s the same, but the rest of the world will just point and laugh at you

bts aren’t arguing with people online over imaginary ship fantasies. by the time you’re in your 30s there’s a level of maturity that’s expected. anything past 30 is too old to still be engaging in that

that’s pretty much what i’ve been doing for the last year but having an anonymous question box allows those things to reach you anyway. naturally, people will suggest removing that, too, but if i have to raise so many shields to keep my own readers from reaching me, there’s an issue. i shouldn’t have to do that. if the community is so insufferable you can’t engage with it whatsoever, doesn’t that suggest finding a new community? i don’t have any particular attachment to taekook so it seems crazy to go to those lengths to keep writing them

it’s not the taekook community specifically, it exists in all of them. taekook and jikook get demonized the most because they’re the most popular, but the same issues are happening in the namkook and vmin community. just on a smaller scale. occasionally their discourse will spill over on my timeline

just local parks / trails near my house! there’s a lot of protected land within 10km of where i live so it’s great for a little day-trip on public transit. i’m less than 10 minutes away from the lake too which is nice. i posted some recently on my instagram @letsgofroggy

the writers aren’t really the problem — it’s the readers and the community itself. i honestly don’t know much about the current state of writers in the taekook community since i haven’t read fic in so long

i’ve been pretty heavily considering leaving the bts fanfic space in favour of writing for a girl group fandom. obviously, there’s a much smaller audience for those types of fics, but i think that could end up being a good thing. no doubt people are insane about ships over there too, but it would still be an improvement. i don’t even like men, so writing gay ships over and over doesn’t do anything for me. it would be nice to write something for myself

yes, but i think i’m pretty much done with the writing community after my commissions because any remaining joy has been sucked out of it. it’s impossible to be in writing circles without being forced into the same space as people who see shipping as an identity. i’ve never been able to relate to the people who genuinely ship certain members and get excited over interactions. i’ve never cared about that, and i’m pretty drained from years of enduring a certain sub-set of readers who insist i do. it’s not fun, and it never really was. i just liked to write
