Like, "straight" sounds like it's the way to be while "bent" is more like there is a problem/deviation. Picture it with a beam, a wall or a road : bent means problems.
So that choice of words seems pretty homophobic to me, that's why I wonder hiw it's regarded by the people in question.
you are perhaps overthinking it. gay people use “bent” as well and you can hear it in several SNH MCs, it’s more of a funny slang term to avoid directly saying gay or lesbian
