bent is Chinese slang for gay because 弯 = bent/curved (as in, not straight)

you are perhaps overthinking it. gay people use “bent” as well and you can hear it in several SNH MCs, it’s more of a funny slang term to avoid directly saying gay or lesbian
How is this considered in the alphabet community or just gay people ? Like, "straight" sounds like it's the way to be while "bent" is more like there is a problem/deviation. Picture it with a beam, a wall or a road : bent means problems. So that choice of words seems pretty homophobic to me, that's why I wonder hiw it's regarded by the people in question.
