01. Iâll show you a (translated) poem that I like and talk a bit about it. 02. I'll tell you something about the projects I'm working on. 03. Iâll tell you a bit about any homoerotic relationship that was had between any of my favorite Spanish poets or artists. 04. I'll tell you about a Spanish poet's work, life, or any interesting details. 05. Iâll tell you a fun fact about myself. 06. Iâll tell you about how I am and how my day has been. 07. Ask whatever you want!
it's past 4:30am and i have officially spent all of my morning so far talking about Lorca / DalĂ / Lorca & DalĂ. so. let us stop and get some sleep because otherwise i will simply descend (further) into insanity and perish. also, i seemingly really need to fix my sleep schedule before the holidays end. we'll tackle that later. goodnight! (technically morning?)
i kind of crashed out so bad while typing this. im so sorry that letter just does things to me.
i cannot be normal about that letter ever in my life. i'm so sorry. it's not even that deep and i can recognize that: however i am insane. no. i will never stop screaming and crying whenever i see that letter.
i translated a letter from DalĂ to Lorca. perhaps THE letter. Perhaps. The first line is all one needs to read, I think. It's become so terribly prominent in literary history. That first line. I dream of that first line and I'm not even kidding. That first line of this letter appears in my brain every night there is not a night where I do not think of the start of this letter or the end of this letter or this letter just in general.
"(...) You are a Christian storm and you are in need of my paganism. At your last stay in Madrid you gave yourself to what you should have never given yourself. I will go find you to make you a cure from the sea. It will be winter and we will light up some fire. The poor beasts will be stiff from the cold. You will remember that you are an inventor of marvelous things and we will live together alongside a portrait-making machine (...)"
YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN STORM AND YOU ARE IN NEED OF MY PAGANISM.
SHALL I DIE. SHALL I DIE. SHALL I. I would die. I will die. I died. I revived. Listen. Listen. Listen so carefully to me right now. Actually don't. I'm going insane. This letter makes me go insane. It's not even the full letter. I'M IN TEARS. I CANNOT HANDLE THIS. I NEVER HANDLED THIS. IN ALL OF MY LIFE'S WORK AND MY RESEARCH I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO HANDLE THIS LETTER. you will remember that you are an inventor of marvelous things and we will. live together. alongisde a portrait machine. I'm too insane to continue but you understand. No actually you don't. I AM GOING MAD.
shall i translate a letter.
i like this picture because it looks like the guy in the back is totally checking Lorca out and Lorca's totally oblivious
i don't know the context of this picture at all i think i've only seen it a few times. what brought Lorca to be surrounded by that many children I'll never know
The gang's all here!
I'm kidding I actually don't know who any of those are except Lorca. The man was friends with practically every artist from his generation and I only know so much... I think one of them might be Buñuel but I'm probably making it up I've only seen like two pictures of Buñuel.
initially i thought the girls in this picture with him were Lorca's little sister + her best friend but I'm not so sure.. They're really little! They might be nieces or something. I actually don't know shit about Lorca's family tree lord...
i feel like posting pictures of Lorca today so you guys are going to have to withstand that. my deepest most sincere apologies.
hmm talking about music now has me itching to play the piano. the only issue is that it's 3:05am and i have neighbors.
Do you prefer shows or movies?
I used to be a bigger movie person, although nowadays I don't really like film and it's easier for me to keep up with a series. I also watch lots of documentaries, and lately I've been really liking documentaries that are split into episodes! 'Docuseries', they call them here...
