After Val and Tasha got married, they were pretty happy for a while! Tasha got pregnant quickly (Nikolai was a Honeymoon Baby), and Val took good care of her while she was with child. However, after Nikolai was born, post partum hit Tasha pretty hard, and Val was the main one really tending to their infant son.

Overall, both of them began to drift apart over the span of Nikolai being born to when Nikolai was around 2 or 3. He felt extremely guilty about it because he didn't want to traumatize a kid, he doesn't like to think about the families of the people he killed. It was eye opening and he still has regrets about it. It really changed his perspective on his lifestyle. He doesn't like to talk about it.

He realized he had actual romantic feelings for her when Sonia is between 15/16! He's extremely alarmed by this, and feels incredibly guilty!
