Vampire Hedgehog, often thirsty!
Ask a question! I'm sure you'll feel compelled to say something!
Will 2025 bring another pooltoy summer? Or will a different DO be in fashion?
It's possible! I didn't do it in 2024 'cus I was a little burned out/a bit of executive dysfunction honestly. See what next year brings now I stream haha
Hi DO, longtime fan, first time questioner. Did you know that you're really neat?
A!
Gosh c: Thank you
Does Simon have a specific field of antiquity it studies, or is it more on the like, excavation and preservation techniques side of things?
Back when it was a Sonic OC, the field of study was based on where it lived as it was an island full of ancient ruins that no-one knew how or why it came to be. So it specialised in excavation, preservation and also the language of those Ancient Builders. What's amusing of course is I had them as aliens and then Sonic Frontiers happened, I won't spoil but Ha Ha :)
Post Sonic I've obviously lost the rest of the angle I was going for but it would still be in excavation, preservation and interpretation. I'd also add in that Simon generally made the conscious choice to pair that with university work because they dislike what a lot of older museums represent. They're not opposed to museums and would encourage local museums, but, y'know what the old ones are like.
Favorite handheld Sonic game?
Generally it's Sonic Battle! I say generally 'cus the early game with Emerl is brutal compared to later on :'D
Sonic Advance 3 is a close second.
Do you miss the 90s and 00s when folks would say "bite me"? Seems like necks are less inviting these days.
And scarves became more fashionable again too, smhmh
Feel free to ignore this one if it is too personal! If there were no bureaucratic faff, no risk, no recovery time and no pain - would you want to be altersex like Simon or is it only something you express through your characters?
Possibly, maybe yes.
It'd be a longer decision that'd I'd have to hmm and ah over when presented with such a thing IRL, but also I didn't make Simon my fursona and then make them altersex (before they got fangs) for no reason
Are those siring scars sensitive, do they tingle at night, or do they feel just like regular scars?
They absolutely don't feel like normal scars because the fur actually grew back over it, but it basically grew back thin or transparent.
Sensitive? Probably Tingle at night? No Maybe tingle around who sire'd it (and they're toying with Simon)? Yeah I'd think so
If Simon was altersex before becoming a creature of many forms, did it have scars? Or was it more of a 'you'd never tell anything was there' setup.
If it had scars, does it keep them when shifted smooth?
I typically drew it as "you'd not easily tell" but I suspect there would have been potential scarring. It'd have absolutely attempted to keep its fur groomed as best as it could to hide it unless you were close. Honestly if you were that close the potential scarring Simon had would probably be secondary to "wow, you surgically have nothing there, huh?"
Post-turning is very much a "AHAHA I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT ANY MORE" situation in that Simon probably goes for what it ideally wanted.
If you like your sauce with a kick, what fragrance should I be putting on my neck?
Clearly English mustard
What's an music album that you not only like, but feels symbolizes you?
Endless Forms Most Beautiful, Nightwish. Just... without the Dawkins voice lines. It's hard to put in to reasons why really.
I almost answered Dark Passion Play by Nightwish but I had a bigger think and that more represented a younger, 2007, DarkOverord. I think EFMB's more positive overall message is more representative of 2024 DarkOverord
who's the best pop culture vampire
Count von Count and Remilia Scarlet clearly.
Actually this partly comes from an angle of someone who doesn't actually absorb much media outside of videogames.
I was also tempted to say "Count Duckula" because that's another silly answer I could give (also not really "best" pop culture vampire, and an incredibly British answer)
Oh is this the new retrospring replacement!? Let us know how it goes <3
So far it feels a little clunkier than Retrospring did, but it's doing the job as expected at least!
What is your favorite sauce?
Typically it'd be non-English curry sauce from a chippy. Why do I phrase it like that? I dunno English Curry Sauce just, doesn't vibe with me - it's overly sweet, it's usually a little on the thin side and I'm not exactly a fan of "lets throw bits in this sauce", IIRC it's usually some kind of chopped fruit or something. The sweetness also balances out the spice of the curry powder too much, not because it's mild but it just tends too much on the sweet side.
Meanwhile the kind you get from chippies that don't claim to be "English" (I say it like this on purpose) typically favours a thicker, spicier sauce that still retains a little sweetness that better compliments chips IMO
Otherwise I just stick with the usual condiments with preference based on usage really. English Mustard I guess? I think what we're establishing here is I want my sauces with a kick I guess??????????
