Hi anon! It depends on the country itself. In Korea, it's better for a brand to reach out to the artist itself in magazines, but in CN, their highest tier is the magazine inviting the artist since in CN industry, it means that the magazine trusts the artist that so many brands will bid for the artist to use their clothes or have their name as the ones they used for the clothes.
It's basically a different market which focuses on different things.
I'll answer if I can about CN deals since I'm very interested in them if ever.
If you do see people talking about a gig in the super topic itself, it means that the brand reached out directly to the cbar so they can contact the fans for supporting the brand or the release
??? Chanel crocs actually exist??? Damn. Also heyyy from your standpoint in the fashion industry (assuming luxury fashion?), is it actually true that a luxury brand’s main target consumer demography are upper middle class rather than the top 1% of the population (even though they hold like 70% of a nation’s wealth)? Except for Hermès or something I guess
They don’t 😭 (they should make some though for me 👀). I’d say only a small amount of luxury brands are only aiming for that top 1% (imo) but more and more brands have what people call the ‘affordable luxury’ ranges these days. It’s a tricky one to answer because I’d say brands want their hands in all pockets but they keep the markets very separate in terms of things they put out. A clear example of this is like the stuff you with the big bold logs and the very clear brand names on are usually catered towards the everyday consumer who might want to treat themselves to a luxury good. That’s not catering to their top 1%. Things that you see on the runway or in exclusive lines but aren’t easily accessible in their flagship stores are for their more high profile consumers.

Omg ! I love this for him, I tried to find out if anything had been announced yet but I can’t find anything. I’m guessing this was put up early on accident or like a marketing spoiler thing ? Hopefully the official announcement comes soon ! (Thank youu 🥹❤️❤️❤️)
Can you make threads on this site ?
Yes! Actually it probably better to do it like this too. If you want to add something to what an anon has said link their response to a new ask otherwise it gets buried at under that reply instead of at the top and idk if the og anon even sees that you’ve replied. You can just hit the 3 dots that connect and it should give you the option to copy and you can just paste into a new ask and that way your response will be at the top.
Different anon here but that is so nice to know that you choose to further in something that you love especially creative career. For me it is quite impossible because of those typical asian parents and teachers who view that creative focused career does not ensure success. I even drop an art subject during high school cause they want me to focus on science stream subjects. Well right now I am already has a stable job in healthcare but still if I could to turn back the time, I wanna try to pursue art
Anon it’s truly never too late. I understand the strict Asian parents (I’m Asian too #chanelcrocsfacts) but I think if it’s truly something you love go for it and if you give it your best success will follow you. This career path was really risky and icl my ass was on the verge of getting disowned when I told my parents I was going to a fashion school instead of doing a traditional university degree in something like a stem subject but for the life I live now I wouldn’t have traded it for anything. Even if you feel like you can’t change career or leave your job allow yourself to enjoy your creative hobbies and get back into them in your free time, you deserve to do things that make you happy too 🥺❤️
When and how did you get interested in fashion 👀
I’ve always been interested i guess, I wasn’t too interested in the academic subjects and I really thrived in the more creative subject and during school (when I was like 14-16) we had a textiles class (like sewing and creating pieces) and I really thrived in it. I think during that time was when I realised that this is my passion, designing and creating pieces and I wanted to do it more seriously as a career.
i really need a geonihani pictorial @prada @calvinklein @gucci they should get gunwook on board since they dropped jiwoong 😁
I want to ask for magazine pictorial, which is better in terms of the magazine approach the artist vs the brand approach the magazine/artist?
Tbh both are pretty good I’d say a brand working with an artist is slightly better though because magazines are usually not going to have the same person on the cover often but if a brand is wanting to work with you they could possibly have you represent them in multiple different magazines. An example I can think of since it’s so recent is hanbin’s Swarovski think was done with Elle but it was arranged by the brand and it was the brand who selected him which is why his shoot is not only on the Elle page but on other magazine instagram pages too. Outside of magazine shoots I think a brand showing that they want to personally contact and work with you for something shows that your wanted in the industry too and can help you build a strong connection with that brand and might even make others interested in you.

NEVER EXPECTED THE ELLE EDITOR TO BE AN ALLINDAN😭😭😭
How are you in fashion but like crocs…. (Genuinely curious)
When crocs first started trending I was such a hater but after my internship and now where I work I wear formal wear and ‘ smart shoes’ which are not comfortable and my feet hurt after long days. For Christmas one of my freinds actually gave me crocs as a joke gift but they were a cute blue and I wore them and wow after long day in stiff shoes these crocs were like a god send, while I think they could be cuter they are so comfortable and very convinient to slip on if I’m running quick errands😂
Thoughts on Hanbin and Gyuvin for MissGeeCollection?
I think they both did really well and considering miss gee works with esteem models for the show it’s amazing they were selected to be in it. I’m still confused about the brand because I can only see that they only sell womenswear but they have had male idols walk for them before. Still a really good opportunity though.
