How are you able to use a small number of characters for your inspirations and reference sheets? Because some like me would use about 39 or 57 characters as inspirations to make my own.
That's quite an overkill. I filter out some and with the ones remaining, I'd use their strongest qualities. The rest is up to how you refine them.
