SO TURNS OUT, the reason why there's no publicly available correspondence from Prieto to Aleixandre (there is a lot from Aleixandre to Prieto, because Prieto kept them all and didn't have any family he passed it down to) is because the wife (now widow) of one of Aleixandre's "friends" is keeping all of his inventory to herself after her husband died. Why do I say "friend" in quotation marks? Because, beyond Prieto, Aleixandre had a relationship with the widow's husband. She tries to deny it over and over but refuses to publish the letters. In essence, she is withholding all of Aleixandre's inventory (which includes Prieto's letters) because publishing it would expose that her husband was bisexual and smashing one of his best friends... Lord, lord, lord. Ruth Bousoño — your husband is a faggot! We all know! Publish the letters!!!
