teehee thank you!! i was messing with gradient maps and thought this one turned out nice! plus it isnt hard on my eyes (i know you didn't ask but i try to stray away from super bright/neon themes, it can give me headaches sometimes)

ummm one of my like... other longest standing special interests is danny phantom. i know butch hartman has done some pretty weird stuff, but most of the fandom that i've seen doesn't like him either LOL and they've basically made it their own in a way

onto the rambling part:

even if it is "a kids show" to a lot of people, there's a lot of things about it i think are genuinely super cool and a bit darker! like the idea/concept of dark danny and how he came to exist is something i find super interesting- he basically comes to exist as a result of danny wanting to cheat on a super important test that would basically decide his future, which causes a massive domino effect.

in the original timeline, mr lancer ends up becoming suspicious of danny and asks his parents to meet him at the nasty burger, and sam and tucker are also there. due to a vat of "nasty sauce" overheating and becoming explosive, destroying the restaurant and killing everyone mentioned in the process. danny ends up being the only one who survived due to his ghost powers, and it causes him MASSIVE amounts of grief and survivor's guilt over it (which makes sense, who wouldn't feel that way honestly?)

danny then ends up moving in with his archnemesis vlad (who is also a friend of danny's parents, they just aren't aware that either of them are half ghosts), who he then asks to basically separate his human and ghost halves. danny wants to be rid of his ghost powers, and he also believes it will rid him and his ghost half of human emotions entirely, which would in turn remove the guilt and anguish he felt.

this doesn't really end up working, as danny's ghost half basically inherits all of danny's negativity now that it was freed of the conscience of danny's human half. it ends up separating vlad's human half and ghost half, and merges with vlad's ghost half. this, basically combining the worst of both of them, causes a being of basically pure, unadulterated evil and malice to form. this being, aka dark danny, ends up murdering his human half and destroying vlad's castle before flying away. for the next 10 years, dark danny basically goes on a massive rampage, causing near catastrophic destruction in both the human realm and the ghost zone, with no one really able to stop him.

obviously, eventually he does end up getting stopped by danny and imprisoned, with the timeline being changed so that everyone who previously died ends up living, but i think he's a pretty cool villain for a show a lot of people might just write off as being "for kids". he also makes an appearance in the somewhat recently released "a glitch in time" graphic novel, as he ends up escaping, but i haven't personally read that yet :P
