(christmas lover here) i don’t think it’s overrated but it does bug the shit out of me that everyone gets to be so loud and excited about halloween (including me! i love decorations and costumes and movies!) but everyone around me just complaints for two months straight about christmas. they HATE the music. they don’t want to sit down and watch a silly holiday movie. shopping is a chore. entertaining is a chore. and i can appreciate there’s a lot of thankless work that goes into christmas especially when you’re a woman and worse if you have a family. but damn i just want to have fun? it really harshes my vibe
