The asterisk changes the font for all of the text on your page! Font style and variant depend on the font you are using, since not all fonts have the exact same styles. Weight thickens your font, making it bolder or skinnier.

I recommend using W3School's web safe fonts !! It lists the CSS for your choice of font! All you really need is the "font-family" bit to change the font itself and that's it !!
