Honestly, this happened to me too, but I had no idea how I fixed it. I just messed around with the settings before things started working again, but here's what I think can help:

• make sure the settings for "Lock Your Profile" in "Privacy" is off. If it is already off and questions still can't be asked, do the basic tech reset and turn it on and off.
• give the site a few minutes to adjust its code before sending an ask if you just recently edited it
• see if there's anything in "Profile" that might've broke the code of the site
• reset your sessions (by deleting them in "Sessions") (I don't recommend this unless absolutely necessary)
• see if there's anything that might've affected the ask box in "Account"
• try writing to yourself (as registered, guest, and anonymous) to check if the ask box is still malfunctioning or not.
  I don't know how much this would help, especially since I just started exploring this website less than 24 hours ago, but I hope this helps!
