"For you!" Basilio grins up at Louis from where he crouches, a smattering of wildflowers in his hand.

“Oh,” Louis takes them without hesitation, “for me?”

“For you,” Basilio nods. “As a thank you, for all you do for me and Del. Easier to just leave guys like us in the gutters where you find us, but you took the chance, like. Gotta show appreciation somehow.”

Louis smells the flowers, a strong scent if not a pleasant one. “I only took a chance because I knew you would do well. Now come, we have much to do still.”

He would put the flowers in water later.
