u need to read between lines bc thats how i understand the twts and if the words they used offend someone maybe they should think why idk
honey, i told you i am simply trying to point out a broad pattern that is without a doubt happening online in the way people - and even self identified feminists - talk, and you are getting defensive about a tweet or tweets that neither of us have directly linked or talked about the context of, and could be different things entirely, so here are my rough thoughts for you
-adding context where there is none is not critical thinking unless you know a poster on a personal level and have additional context of their private opinion, but singular, inflammatory tweets usually do not convey nuance and you genuinely shouldn't expect them to
-if there is a teaching moment, it's desirable to go after threads and twts that actually have information and context, especially cultural or social context, that allows people to understand the issue in a more complex way
-if there is a teaching moment but the moment is just used as a gotcha to call women dumb bitches who can't possibly grasp the issue, no one is learning and the point has failed and this is misogyny
hope that helps
