Do you have any tips for someone trying to get better at writing creatively, as in, making each 'scene' feel different and interesting?

Study other writers, read a lot, and write a lot. Do lots of the thing!

But for real, here's some more actionable specific advice : because the reader is going to have to fill in the blanks and imagine everything, you want to give them as much to work with as possible, but without turning it into a brick of description.

For me, I do this by focusing a bit on a the non visual sensory aspects. Touch, texture, sound, taste... The right little extra detail will really make the whole scene come alive. Also, don't be afraid to throw in a little mundane detail - an eccentricity that isn't remarked upon, some little moment of awkwardness. It makes the scene feel more real and lived in!
