I'm not usually the type to mention my shipping preferences, and with Coroika characters, I can see how a lot of ship dynamics can have their basic pros and cons.

Eg; for Aloha x Mask (extroverted party animal x introverted otaku), the first thing I see are the cons, but when I take a more optimistic view, I could see it working. It's still not my favorite ship, but at least when I do change my perspective a little, it doesn't weird me out as much.

TLDR: I just don't like shipping Emperor from Coroika much, his implied age puts a bit of an age gap between the characters and I believe the way he treats others isn't very compatible with the rest.

But some of the popular ships for this fictionkin of mine (Emperor) weird me out because of his estimated canon age (19 yrs old, splatoonwiki.org/wiki/Emperor). Our current characters do not have estimated ages, unless you check the god forsaken fandom wiki, so it's hard to canonically argue that it's weird, but they'd probably be at the minimum of 16 yrs old (if they even aged). This could be overlooked, I feel. The other problem is that his attitude towards others, before Team Blue defeated him, was a lot more condescending and I fear he wouldn't view others as his equal. Even after his defeat, I'd be a little wary about that, though I have to admit he's a lot more carefree now.

(Note: Sometimes, characters are better off as rivals and not as rivals to lovers. I'll make an exception for rivals to friends though. I also might just be projecting a bit on to Emperor, but this question wasn't a free therapy session so I gotta wrap it up)
