Thank you so much, that's very kind of you! The Underwood home is in Odiham, Hampshire. I have a sort of alternate history going where Sir Francis Walsingham, Elizabeth I's spymaster, was granted an earldom rather than just recognition for his services. Generations later, a brotherless female descendant of his married an Underwood man, and then further down the road Queen Victoria made one of Alec's ancestors a Marquess for his service as a governor in India. So Alec's title is actually Marquess Walsingham! It's been very fun constructing the family's past and doodling in historical margins with my beautifully nerdy best friend's help, but I'm sure I make plenty of mistakes a British reader can spot. I'm always open to learning more!
