ultimately I do think it’s about promotion and how visible Splatoon becomes with this next installment. I think we need more promotional events and brand collaborations in the states. Splatoon 3 had quite a few in Japan but absolutely soared during Splatoon 2’s era looking back on it.

a lot of people didn’t like the goofy commercials we got in the states but there have been ones similar in tone to the Japanese PVs as well. it really does come to marketing when i think about it. getting more eyes on the series. hopefully we do get an animation miniseries but that’s just a desire as a fan and i’m not sure how directly it’ll impact popularity.

second most important thing could be to make sure the lore is accessible for newcomers. so maybe in the next game they can do something similar to Sonic X Shadow Generations where there are collectible art book concepts, media like the Squid Sisters Stories, idol interviews and a summary of the story so far with Now or Never Seven available to flip through in a gallery area. okay now I NEED THIS.
