i feel like this has been kind of flattened into a false dichotomy and like, depending on what you mean the answer to this could be yes, no, or maybe.

icl poly ships tend to be a hard sell for me in general because they are not A+B(+C etc), they are their own ships which result in their own dynamics and if they are presented as a "solution" i am not about that. it's. kind of like kink fics where it's like, on paper i do not oppose this on principle, but it feels almost like you are painting by numbers or trying to posit some level of moral superiority here so i am not eating this execution. and i've gone into it at length on my old retrospring about how i do not like harems lmao. it is much easier to sell me on something vague and ill-defined than on a government-registered polycule. and also with the way i excessively categorize everything in my mind palace group sex and polyships are two distinct beasts and i feel like they often aren't treated as such. like running a train on someone is different from shipping them with all of those involved in said train to me idk.

anyway to more directly answer your question, if matthew and gunwook are being shipped with each other, i'm personally not into involving anyone else. in part because i think that the intensity and nature of their dynamic kind of inherently precludes it unless the third is into chilling in the cuck chair for extended periods, but also because, frankly, i don't like a lot of their other ships so mixing them together does nothing for me. like even if i did not feel the way i do about gmg, i would not eat a lot of these ot3 ships because i simply do not like the other guy with either of them lmfao.

so yeah. if you want someone to get into a poly ship involving gmg i am not the right guy to bring that to. but you have company and there are other people who would be happy to talk to you. i am, however, not entirely opposed to shipping them with other people when they're separated, so i don't necessarily consider myself a monogamist because i'm not a dedicated monoshipper like many other gmgers are. i'm just a hater lmfao but like we try to keep it classy. i do love putting gunwook in a situation. i'm just like... the multiversal type of multishipper, which like. i know isn't uncommon but i feel like there's almost some sort of weird kind of expectation that if you do multiship their ass is open to the public at all hours. like if that's your kink, love and peace but i'm like... that is a kink why does it feel like the assumed default.
