I understand fixation and obsession to some degree, for example I feel I am Memeulous’ biggest fan and I know a lot about him, but if someone else said they felt that way, I’m not going to start an argument as it’s such a childish thing to do lol

it seems like an entirely natural evolution of fandom, even the late 60s and 70s Star Trek fandom was overrun by people shipping self-insert characters with Spock and bombarding Leonard Nimoy with inappropriate letters. people have always taken their attraction to fictional characters a little too seriously
