honest opinion on survivors/victims using cult 'aesthetics' as a comfort or coping mechanism? hope this isn't disrespectful to ask!
⠀࿙࿚⠀don’t think i should have any word on how someone copes, but if you want to hear the personal experience from a damsel who’s been there, done that~⑅> i really advice you not to.
⠀my family and I aestheticized it as a means for “comfort” and to “feel in control” a while back, and while it did feel empowering for a while, the mental deterioration it caused on the long run was much worse. ତ(⑅/❀/ ̫ T) by doing so, you’re just engaging with a toxic mindset, normalizing a horrifying form of abuse, and passing down the brainwashed mentality into those around you. it’s like romanticizing your own trauma and remaining in the same place because it feels familiar.
I UNDERSTAND YOU.
