Sillyfest’s submission period is March 25-27, so if you can claim a prompt, write a minimum of 1000 words, and get it submitted the same day, you can claim as late as March 27th! We do encourage you to claim before then tho….

We are allowing writers who have already claimed a prompt to claim additional prompts starting on Monday, Nov 25th, so if you have your eyes on a certain prompt you might wanna go ahead and claim it.

If you just want to wait a bit and decide if you wanna join sillyfest later, that’s cool too! As long as fics are submitted no later than March 27th you can claim up to then.

unfortunately, sillyfest does not allow double claims. however! if you want to write lesbians for any of the other prompts, you can!! (as long as it does not specify no cisswap)

otherwise, if none of the unclaimed prompts are speaking to you, you can either see if any prompts get dropped or self prompt :) 🪱

nope! we only had the option to input contact info (twt, bluesky, email) in case we had any questions regarding the prompt. a lot of the prompts were actually submitted anonymously

when fics are posted, you can totally shout your prompted fics out and be like "ahhh this is everything I wanted!!!1!1!" but nothing will be posted regarding prompters on our end :) 🪱

Great question! While we are not going full anonymous, it’s fun to keep a little mystery (we think, anyway). Feel free to chat wips or brainstorm with your friends and fellow writers, post wipweds or snippets…we just ask that you don’t fully post the prompt you’ve claimed for the world to see until we post everyone’s finished works.

Now, are we going to boot you from sillyfest if you don’t listen? Nah. But we’d prefer you keep your prompt to yourself and a smaller circle. Pretty please. Teehee. smiles 🍌

we totally understand if you do not think sillyfest is the place to explore themes such as noncon. you are free to not include it in your prompts and/or fic submissions!

our rules require participants to make sure all potentially triggering topics are “properly tagged and the story can still be classified as silly.” some people may think that beastiality, underage, and incest could potentially be used in a silly way, which we did not feel would be appropriate for this fest. a lot of thought was put into these rules, and we specifically included those banned topics for that reason.

if someone can find a way to make a story involving noncon into a silly fic, and they properly tag that content, then they are welcome to submit that fic! a lot of times people use humor to cope with pain - because unfortunately not everything is silly all the time.

all participants are required to properly tag their work. if someone submits a fic involving a topic you do not enjoy, hopefully there will be plenty of other submitted fics for you to read instead!
