Being a genjutsu-type means being naturally innate at identifying genjutsu but based on natural perception and skill and Sarada doesn't particularly fit into that category because she has dojutsu. Sharingan already sees through genjutsu for her and can cast genjutsu for her, so it's not a natural process, it just comes with having specific kekkei genkai for that task.
