what if seungmin hired an acting accent coach specifically to fuck with the aussies? he has the resources. in all seriousness tho i think there’s like a specific thing about the australian accent that is just harder to aquire than most, a few years ago an american comedian got on australian news for doing a believable aussie accent and all the newscasters were shocked (brian jordan alvarez)
omg yes i agree the aussie accent really is a bit difficult to acquire than most bc the intonations are so subtle, i do think though that he could pick it up if he wanted, and i like the idea of him refusing to bc its just funny

i think sevngmn just uses whatever accent he first learned a word in. i’ve noticed occasionally he will say a word in the middle of a sentence in a full australian accent. his accent isn’t like strongly american in full sentences imo, he sounds most american when saying single words. in the chn flx sevngmn 2k+1room in 2020 they talk about sevngmn’s english (it’s a cute ep! i highly recommend!)
i have watched that 2kr+1 its so good to me for other more nefarious reasons than just how cute it is when they discuss seungmins english hehe. and i agree he adopts the accent of whatever he learns a word in but accent acquisition would be easy for him to adopt fullon aussie since the people hes speaking english with the most are australian, i do think its partly a choice he makes and its funny
