Do you think it's okay to still hold onto admiration and respect for my ex because he really had a significant positive impact on my life? He inspired me in areas I didn't know I would care about deeply, he taught me a lot. Though, it doesn’t mean that I'm still romantically attached to him. You know what I mean, right?
Well, as long as it’s not something excessive or somehow you romanticize too much (if you have a significant other), I think that’s fine. Since some or a lot of people in our life (including ex(es)) have their own part which brought us lessons to learn, etc. They are parts that made us the person we are today. So, I personally think it’s okay to just admire and respect them as a person. There are exes of mine or people I used to know who took huge parts of my journeys as well. So, I understand.
