So jellyfishes are marine animals who live for about 2-4 years at max. there’s a single species of jellyfish that are considered immortal as they reincarnate once they reach an old age, returning to their initial polyp state. They have no brain, heart, or bones, but they can still feel/sense and sleep. They glow in the water/dark, therefore being their own source of light and when they sleep, they stop glowing. They glow as a defense mechanism, using it to startle predators and they glow when a substance called luciferin reacts with oxygen. It releases energy, therefore creating light. They are on this planet for over 500 million years, but due to their lack of bones, their fossils are extremely rare. When a jellyfish is born/made idfk, they can take two different body forms. Polyp in which they reproduce asexually by budding and Medusae in which they reproduce by spawning eggs and sperm to reproduce sexually
