Unsure if the drawing saved but just in case: what if val had the same amount of arms and eyes as a spider? There were little sketches of val w 3 sets of arms and also more eyes and also a little evil kitty spider val
Oh no, the drawings did not save! I'm so sorry! But I do love to think about Actual Spider Limbed Val, he lives in my heart rent free. There was a version of KNIVES that involved spider transformations but it wound up not suiting the vibe, thematically, by the time the book was halfway through.
