when the characters are actually written right in a fic that sets place in canon. the amount of times i've read awfully mischaracterized fics is insane... i do love aus too though :3

1. When I'm right about the murderer.
2. Unreliable narrators are fun. I haven't seen a perspective that's so objective it becomes unreliable by neglecting emotions.

I utterly adore character study fanfics especially for characters that that didn't have enough screentime or weren't given justice it's just so interesting to explore a character's motivations and flaws and such

batshit crazy plot twists. twists so unexpected that they make you throw your phone at the wall and do that one shinji chair pose

its kiiiinda weird but.. I like to see cuddling in fics or fanarts! I think its cute, espec when its my fav ship from a fandom :)

UNRELIABLE NARRATION!! Omg unreliable narration is soooo hard to pull off in writing, but whenever it's pulled off well it's really good. Unfortunately if you tag a fic as having unreliable narration you kinda spoil it, so you have to just hope you stumble across a work with it one day :(
