Tw: music rambling

Chico buarque is a very important song writer in brazil. (This is mostly just me rambling about my history love, it's upsetting how people ignore this and only learn about the medieval history. The 1900s is one of the most important years of human history in my opinion, you can find people that had family and even old people thats been through it) He was part of the military dictatorship, an event where the ever anxious to guarantee pro-American, anti-Communist government in Brazil. If it was only that I wouldn't be bad, but there were cases of actual slaughter and torture for people expressing they're opinion against the dictatorship. The situation was so bad that a group of revolutionary (8 de Março or March 8th) kidnapped the American ambassador, with the proposal of them either ending the dictatorship or the ambassador would die (he didn't die dw). But what does chico boarque, a brazilian artists about bossa nova have to do with this? He was one of the artists most targeted by the military dictatorship. An opponent of the regime, he participated in the Passeata dos Cem Mil, in 1968, in Rio, and, in the same year, he wrote the show "Roda Viva". Infact "Jorge maravilha" is a song making fun of the president because he's daughter used to love chico buarques song (HE MADE A SONG ABOUT HOW HES DAUGHTER LIKED HES SONGS SO THEY COULDNT "ARREST" CHICO LMAO). Now that we know he's history, what is the so big importance of the song "construção"? The song was made in one of the most severe periods of the military dictatorship in Brazil, amid censorship and political persecution. The song isn't really involved with the dictatorship but actually about the story of the last day of life of a construction worker, who died while carrying out his work, it's from the moment he left his home, until the moment of the brutal fall that led to his death. It mostly criticism of the alienation of the worker in modern, urban capitalist society, reduced to a mechanical condition. But to notice that we need to análise the song. There are a lot of theorys over how the song can be interpreted: 1) it's a story separated in 3 parts: what happened, the news and how it got to the family and the third the point of view of the society. 2) 3 diferentes workers, same death and diferente life's. To be honest I prefere the 2 option, why? Because on the last part it's more norissable that the construction worker killed himself diferente then the other two. But really, until this day no one knows if it's the same person or not. Anyways, this is about my fav artists and music. I should probably finish the lyrics and melody analysis I made (This is 100% not a reference/j)
