How much big is the importance of a degree from the academies or from universities for an actor/actress to have in China in your pov? What about the general thoughts on actors who dropped out without graduating? What do you see in China about actors who are just secondary school graduates or even worse being a secondary school drop out? Do the reasons for being a drop out matter? I saw people boasting about the gaokao score of their faves. Do they really matter in fanwars? I remember WYB's scandal. The guy graduated from high school in South Korea after completing the mandatory years (primary and middle school) in China and people still call him an illiterate. How much do you care about the educational background of your faves?
okay i need to preface: all this is personal opinion. i think graduating with a degree in performance helps, but it's not entirely the bulk of your career. but of course, it is no wrong to say having a degree in performance has produced many good actors. but, graduating in relative fields close to performance, not related to performance has also produced established/known actors/actresses -- bai jingting, zhou xun, sunli, zhao liying, a large bunch of HK mega movie stars.
on being a dropout: I think it matters what why they dropped out. you raised wyb but i think he had to juggle between china and korea. i also think his bigger issue with being called illiterate comes from his own lack of culture/depth that doesn't always lead back to education. people like to conflate it as education = culture but sometimes even being educated can lend you to saying stupid things lol.
as for gaokao scores in fanwars; if they're boasting about the raw academic score i'd say it's nothing much to keke about ...

I think wyb just doesnt like speaking and his brain freezes and he just ends up answering shortly and it doesnt come off well
@anon: ? if i recall his most mocked intv is him being unable to answer questions about a character he played in a movie so wdym he doesn't like to speak?? you're promoting a show you've acted in and you refuse to speak? it's not adding up.
