I've always imagined toilets smell like bleach (even in terms of them being regularly used)
Perhaps if a bit too much bleach was used you could smell it even after using it, but honestly at that point I think the bleach smell would be too strong for me to put up with it. A recent cleaning is one thing, but the intense chemical smell is far worse than a public toilet deuce if you ask me.

Yeah was more so thinking if the chemical smell was strong enough to persist even after regular use of the toilet then clearly too much bleach was used and would likely be unbearably strong, least to me. Though meanwhile I fucking hate the smell of bleach and chemicals in general, even a whiff, but agreed on the smell of waste/gas (but only some; still gotta hold my breath when cleaning the litterboxes) but I guess it also depends on the type and strength of the chemicals, some have a nice smell like windex (chiefly ammonium compounds rather than sodium hydroxide)
as someone who’s smelled a fair share of chemicals in my time, im taking the chemicals. unless there’s literally an entire bottle of bleached poured into the bowl, it’s not gonna be overly noxious. that being said im a weirdo who needs to be fucking studied because i lowkey like the smell of waste/gas (some), though I’ve only ever dealt with (and smell’t with) my own. so who knows how much weight that decision of mine holds. i need to be studied. idc if this is public ish i can’t keep this on my chest anymore 💀
