Mitochondrias in our cells (a "piece" in charge of producing the fuel methabolism uses) originated when, thousands of millions of years ago, a large unicelular being tried to "eat" a bacteria, but the digestion was unsuccessful and they ended up forming a symbiosis. The bacteria was protected inside the larger cell and in exchange it would produce energy for it. So every single one of your cells has bacterial DNA.

It sounds so made up, but it's true. Biology is the most magical thing ever.
