thankfully, "school blocking all the good websites" isn't really a problem for me (university is very permissive, and what little it does block can easily be bypassed with DNS over HTTPS and/or a VPN)

besides, you could probably find an unblocked Matrix (or RocketChat, or Revolt, or XMPP) server just as easily

UMM well the admins always figure out everything and they locked down VPNs and DNS editing with the school wifi

like it connects and you can't switch to anything else
